Osiris Hertman graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven, having studied under Lidewij Edelkoort. He started his career working for Ulf Moritz and later for Marcel Wanders. His background in product design is reflected in his passion for customising each project. Osiris is an all-round designer who's been pushing the boundaries of design since he opened his studio in 1997. He started as a furniture designer, soon came interiors, home accessories and even hand-crafted silver jewellery for the renowned lifestyle brand Buddha to Buddha. Osiris has travelled around the world to find unique and beautiful materials. The major part of all his design pieces are made by hand and encapsulate his unique style and passion for elegance, beauty and craftsmanship. Communism and its fall had a worldwide impact, but none felt the changes more than the previously Soviet states. In the early 1900s, American entrepreneur Marshall Burns Lloyd invented a particular type of loom that was able to weave twisted paper, reinforced with steel, into a woven fabric that could be used to make furniture.
